I am originally from Central California where I grew up heavily in the Agricultural way of life. Living on a small family farm I quickly became involved in both 4-H and FFA where I showed Suffix lambs, Dairy cattle and Beef steers while also participating in livestock judging teams and speaking contest.
As much as I loved showing and helping during the current seasons harvest, I had a knack for sports as well. Competitively competing in High Jump, Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. With multiple division Championships in Volleyball and Softball becoming the 7th ranked Volleyball Libero in the State of California.
Although sports and showing was something I thoroughly enjoyed I had a much bigger yearning for horses. Growing up I was blessed to always have had an awesome back yard horse, but rodeo was something I knew I had to some how become apart of. I finally had my shot when graduation was in the near future and I was offered a trip to Hawaii or my very first barrel horse. Well, that was a no brainer... barrel horse it was. Her name was Barbie (Joes Sunshine Jigs ). You could not have drawn up a better beginner horse then what this mare was. As time went on I found amazing trainers and riders who gave me the confidence to join high school rodeo. Later moving on to joining the Feather River Junior College Rodeo Team as well as the Lassen Community College Rodeo Team.
In college I was fortunate to live with one of my biggest influencers in the barrel horse world, Mrs. Kim Correa. Kim is a true miracle worker with horses who had developed bad habits (hot horses). She had patience that couldn't be taught it was just a gift. How I am with horses today has been fundamentally grown from Kim's program. I was also first introduced to the Electro Acuscope therapy system with her as well when she pulled it out to work on some of her own horses. This sparked a whole other side of equine health that I had never even begun to think about.
After college I had moved back home where I have now had multiple horse changes and riding skills instilled in me by some of the ladies I used to rip out of the magazines and tape on my wall. Now these ladies our in my back yard and a phone call away for guidance. I went on to meet my husband in 2013 who was heavily competing in the sport of rodeo and PBR as a bull rider. I soon followed starting in the California Cowboys Association (CCA) eventually getting my permit in the WPRA to try my hand at Circuit Rodeos.
I went on to work for the Ward Reining and Cutting horse ranch to strengthen my knowledge in horses while I went to veterinarian assistant school. I would soon start working full time as a veterinarian technician in what started as a day clinic for 3 years eventually graduating into a night emergency clinic before making our drastic life changing move to the State of Oklahoma. We moved to Oklahoma to further our careers in the equine and rodeo industry.
Moving to Oklahoma I knew I had to find a career that worked with our family's crazy schedule of kids, sports and rodeo. I have an immense amount of love towards pretty much all species (sorry spider lovers I count them out) and knew I wanted to help animals in some sort of way. In the equine industry you quickly learn that injuries sometimes consume our daily lives and as competitive as this industry is, with the opportunities made available to us, injuries can really halt opportunities.
I finally did some extensive research and was able to find a reputable company for the Electro Acucsope and Myopulse therapy systems. I primarily work from home having patients stay with me for their duration of rehab. This is so I can completely customize there treatments and times per individual case, along with giving them pure rest which can be rehab on its own. I am an Acuscope Therapist full time with the utmost dedication to each case that comes through my barn.
I look forward to meeting you and your athlete or companion when the time is right.
Thank you.
